Washington, DC Newborn Session
A signature offering of PLUME Photography is the in-home newborn session, in fact, my very first session in 2014 was an in-home newborn session, and I’ve never looked back. When asked why, the answer is simple: in-home newborn sessions produce the connectivity and authenticity that have become the hallmark of PLUME newborn portraits.
Whether it’s your first or fourth child, you’ve likely done some form of nesting to prepare for your new arrival. Our homes - be it a new home, a temporary residence or your forever home - help to tell our story as a family, and I love to capture that element as well.
Beyond that, it’s also just incredibly practical! As expecting and experienced parents alike know, babies seem to require a lot of stuff - pacifiers, swaddles, burp cloths, extra bottles and definitely extra diapers and outfits. And when we do your session in your home, all of that is at your fingertips.
It also makes it much easier to include all of the members of your family - four legged ones, too, of course! - in your session. Your older kids are comfortable at home and often love to show off their room in addition to their new sibling, and can easily go about their normal routine with either parent or a caregiver when they are done with their photos.
You’ve created a safe and cozy cocoon for your family, and it’s an honor to be invited in to make these memories together (whether you really remember our time together, or not!)
